I am a full-time working photographer based on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. As a self-taught artist for over forty years, my specialty is in helping my clients with commercial photography projects. My love of photography extends to capturing fine art landscapes, live music concerts, and sports photography. I take great satisfaction in creating just the right image to suit your needs without going over budget. I am continually motivated by the challenge of getting my camera to produce the scene and emotion in my clients’ mind to deliver images that represent your vision for your product and brand.

When left to my own devices, I seek out and capture the unparalleled, raw beauty of the rainforest and ocean on Canada’s west coast. Darran continues to refine and experiment with his medium while maintaining a high personal standard for customer service, quality, and integrity.

My commercial photography can be found on websites and ad campaigns around the world, plus used in promotion for musicians all across North America, while my internationally recognized and award-winning landscape imagery can be found in private collections in the UK, Canada, Korea, and the USA. My work was also selected from over 18,000 entrants as the 2017 grand prize winner for BC Ferries’ #stormwatchBC photo competition.

My influences include Ansel Adams, Sherman Hines, and Mike Tittle for their diverse body of work and the depth of feeling they achieve.
